About the Global EMPower Program

The goal of the EMPower Program is to bring about significant
reductions in the cost of electricity generated from grid-connected
photovoltaics (PV) and concentrating solar power (CSP) by
aggregating sufficient demand in the utility market.  The reduction in
cost will allow for the greater use of these clean, renewable energy
technologies.   

The EMPower program will design and implement a replicable
process for collaborative market development.  Targeted at utilities,
technology suppliers, financiers, policy makers and regulators in
both developing and developed countries, EMPower is a phased
program of stakeholder engagement, education and action, laying
the foundation for subsequent development of the global utility
market for grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) and concentrating
solar power (CSP) technologies.
